Hello, I’m Carolyn!

My journey into midwifery began long before formal training. I became a mother at 18 and quickly found myself searching for deeper understanding and more meaningful care than I was experiencing. I longed to feel seen, supported, and truly connected throughout my pregnancy. During my second pregnancy, I chose to pursue home birth care, and that experience transformed everything. I was met with presence, patience, and genuine support. I felt deeply known, empowered in my decisions, and fully involved in my care. That experience became the foundation for the work I now offer to others.

Our Story

I completed my training at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in 2021 and went on to co-found a practice serving families in the Ocala area. Over the years, I have had the honor of walking alongside hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. These experiences have shaped not only my clinical skills, but the way I approach care as a whole, with intention, attentiveness, and deep respect for each individual journey.

Education and Experience

Through Essential Midwifery, I offer a more intimate model of care, serving a limited number of families at a time. This allows me to provide a level of presence and personalization that reflects the kind of care that first inspired me. My goal is for every woman I serve to feel seen, heard, and held throughout her experience. I believe care should be both supportive and empowering, creating space for families to feel confident, informed, and deeply cared for.

My Approach

Outside of my work, I am a wife and a mother of three. My days are rooted in the simple rhythms of home, filled with slow mornings, time outdoors, and creating a peaceful, nurturing environment for my family. In 2024, I had the honor of serving as a surrogate for another family. It was an incredibly meaningful and humbling experience that deepened my understanding of pregnancy, birth, and the many ways families are formed.

Beyond Midwifery

At my core, I value presence, connection, and living in a way that feels grounded and purposeful. These values naturally carry into the care I provide, allowing me to walk alongside families in a way that feels both supportive and genuine.
